Hey Everybody! Beleza?
Hope everything is going great back in the States!! It's going great out here!!!
We had two more baptisms this past week and 5 confirmations this last Sunday! I gave my first confirmation and in Portuguese! It's crazy and awesome how the Gift of Tongues work! Amazing experience!!
The members continue to impress! One day this past week we were walking to the Bishops house for lunch. Which was pretty far away. Anyways while walking, the school bus stops us. And a member (I think she's a teacher) yells out the window asking us to come on board!! So yeah we got picked up by the school bus, full of kids, and got a ride to our lunch appointment! How cool is that!!
One of the most awesome feelings is when we come to an investigators house or a recent convert to find that they are reading to Book of Mormon on their front porch. I have seen this multiple times and it's just awesome!!! Or when a family shows up to church or to a baptism and you can just tell they spent a lot of time showering, makeup or whatever. It's the best!
We had two baptisms this week. Marcos Eduardo Dos Santos Sousa, and Alif. It was awesome. Kinda fun though, the font lights were out! So we had to do the baptism in the dark! We had lights from the room though So wasn't too dark. But it was lit!!
The people are so humble here. They don't have much. One day this 3-year-old Leo was just having a blast kicking a piece of Tupperware as high as he could. No shirt, no shoes. Just running around all day always happy. So it's really humbling here, so keep thinking about all your blessings and things you're grateful for. And if you are ever bored or sad, just go outside and kick a piece of Tupperware!!!
I wish the days were longer they go by too fast and we need more time!!! Guess its a good problem to have. Oh and the frogs here are sick! They make the coolest sound and are bigger than my face!
Love Elder Hillam!
