Hello Family! We were in Teresina yesterday for the leadership meeting so didn't have time to email.
The zone had an incredible month. I am super proud of the whole zone and super thankful for all of the blessings that we received. Without the help of the Lord, none of this would be possible. We were able to reach our goal that we put at the start of the month.
There are so many things that we applied this month to have such a good outcome. But it all comes down to one thing which is personal revelation. God knows how to run the zone the best. So personal revelation is the key to everything.
We had 5 baptisms this past week of a family. 5 brothers. Devison, David, Raelson, Raellyson, e Cauã. Their parents aren't married yet but we're working on that. President Oliveira (Mission Counselor) and his wife were visiting Pidare on Sunday and were able to participate with the baptisms and sacramento meeting. The Pictures and videos are awesome!!
(See pictures from previous week)!
Have an excellent week! Love you all!!

Pindare--Blessed Area (Week 66)
Hello All
Pindare is a blessed area. I love it here. Super thankful to have this opportunity to serve here.
One of our baptisms fell this week but we did have a baptism of Elinilson. He is a light in the darkness. He always chooses to do what is right when all of his family chooses the opposite. We baptized in another place this week. It is a water retention pond. It's by a little farm. They use it for their cows and create fish and swim too. It's a beautiful little area. We went there this week to get permission with a member, Jose Carlos. To get to the pond the fastest way, you have to bend low through a wire fence. My pants didn't like that..... I ripped them real good. lol. Luckily my bag has a cool hip strap that allows me to wear it like a big fanny pack. So I just wore it real low and was able to walk back to our house!
There's always a funny interruption that happens when you are inviting someone to be baptized, sharing the first vision, or sharing your testimony. Here in Pindare we usually have a donkey go crazy, yelling at the top of his lungs. That's always a fun one.
I asked a member this week. "Do you know where I can buy Pão de forma." Which is like a loaf of bread pre-sliced. She replied. "Santa Ines...." Which is in a whole different city hahah.
But did you know that Santa Ines and Pindare don't even have a movie theater? Yeah, if you want to see a movie in the theaters, you have to drive 5 hours to São Luis. Now that's an expensive avengers ticket. haha! Good thing we don't watch movies on the mission.
It's a real Small World. So we were walking back to our house one day this week when a car stopped and a man shouted: "Elder Hillam!!!!"
So for those of you who regularly read my email you all might remember a friend of mine named Leo. He was our neighbor in my first área Cidade Leste (Teresian) over a year ago. He lived next door to our apartment. He bought us pizza, introduced me to Açaí, gave us rides and such. Well, anyways he is from Pindare! He was visiting family here. We took a picture. He needs to send it to me.
The Zone is doing great! We are producing more every week! Choosing to walk in the light rather than the dark.
I hope all goes well with everyone! Love You all so much

Pindare--Second Week (Week 64)
Hello Hello!
It is always a great week on the mission! This week we had the baptism of Lucas!! It was pretty fun to baptism him in a river! He is a stud.
Enjoy the pictures
This week we had a bunch of traveling. We went to Teresina this week for Zone Conference and to Bacabal at the end of the week. Zone Conference is always a treat on the mission. We learn so much. Grow our testimonies and our stomachs.
Elder Druiziani and I are focusing alot on helping the zone produce rather than be occupied. God wants us to produce, not just be occupied all of the time. There are a ton of little things that we can change and do to produce more like planning, having the spirit with us, working on the necessities, having a clean house, receiving personal revelation and so much more.
This zone is gonna run like a big business :)
We have an incredible family that was baptized here the week before I arrived. The father Jose Carlos and his 12 year old son arrived with white shirts and ties and passed the sacrament. He has two other daughters too. We are working to baptize his wife too. They are a beautiful family. I wish everyone could meet them. They feed us lunch once a week too.
We finally have all of our furniture up and functioning! Yayyy!!
I can never stop talking about the Spirit here. The members really treat you like Representatives of Christ. Imagine if you were to give lunch or sit down with the Prophet to talk/eat. Yeah that's what it's like here every day. It's such an incredible feeling and a good reminder that we are Representatives of Jesus Christ. We need to act like them too.
Keep it up with everything! Love you all so much. No better place than the mission. I testify!
Love

Pindare--an Area of Sacrifice and Love (Week 63)
Hello Family and Friends!
It has been two weeks since I have been able to use a computer so we have a bunch to catch y'all up!
Two weeks ago we had five baptisms and seven confirmations. Tate and Kassio (mom and sonj), and Natale, Nathalia, Heloysa (Sisters) were baptized; Franciellyson and Edilson were also confirmed as they were baptized a week ago.
That was a lot of fun having a sacrament meeting with seven confirmations!
We had one baptisms this week of Cleiton. His brother was baptized a couple weeks ago by the Sisters.
So I was transferred!
My new companion is Elder Druziani from Parana. It's close to São Paulo.
I am now the zone leader in a new area called Pindare. The church hasn't been formed here yet. There isn't even a branch. We have a group of about 30 people that meet every Sunday! This last Sunday I presided in the meeting, lead the music, sang the music, and blessed the Sacrament. My companion conducted and did an excellent job for his first time.
It is a huge privilege to be one of the first missionaries in an area. The members here are living on a huge level of the law of consecration. It is incredible to watch them work. Especially the newest members taking on huge responsibilities. We are forming a lunch calendar for the missionaries. We will need to baptize more to fill up the calendar haha.
There is a special spirit here that I love. It is difficult to describe. Its a spirit of sacrifice and love.
Here is the new zone
Elder Hillam - ATL, Georgia
Elder Druziani - Parana Brasil
Sister Molina - Peru
Sister Dias - Cuiaba Brasil
Sister Wicks - Oregon
Sister Benites - Cuiaba Brasil
Elder Palmer - Utah
Elder Mower - Utah
Elder Garcia - Brasil
Elder Pimentel - Rio Grande do Sul
We also had a Division with Elder Palmer and Elder Mower this week. They are in an area called Bacabal. It is two hours from where we live. We picked up a taxi to take us there. It was an awesome road-trip. Super beautiful, farmland, palm trees, blue rivers and lakes and ponds, horse and cows. Super Super cool
There is so much to talk about but little time to share!
So thankful to be serving the saints here. We weren't able to watch General Conference but we will download the talks and listed to them throughout the week.
Have a great week!!
